Project: Defining Love

What was originally a short means to reduce misunderstanding has become a larger project to define what love is and what it creates. Speaking of feelings, or anything relating to such, can be a difficult task. The topic holds diverse opinions and ideas, so going into enough detail to compensate for this can be a major undertaking. I am still working on this here and there, but I might as well post what I have so far.

Love as a Value:

Love as a value concept holds different forms, ranging from the finite, conditional and imperfect, to the perfect, unconditional, infinite and absolute. The values which are born from the value of love, much like the actions, thoughts and feelings created from love, hold similar levels of existence as well.

Love holds both quantitative and qualitative aspects. Love on the ultimate level is when love is quantitatively infinite and qualitatively absolute.

Love as a Creation:

The love of the Father is based in the love of the Son and for the Spirit, which is how love is used in infinity.

If you look at the brain, there is a place just above the cranium spot where the crown chakra appears.  Somewhere in that general area is the seat of personality bestowed at fertilization of the ovum. It is that bestowal that is the seat of the ability to love. It is not a neurological construction although it has neurons and other tissues connected through it, but it is supermaterial. It is supermaterial because it loses no effectiveness when crushed by rejection or by error of judgment. It is renewed constantly by the power of God to nurture personality God the Father bestows to the human mind.

We all love the Father more because of his nature than in recognition of his amazing attributes. Love leads to affection, which can create a reaction of affection from others when the mind is not blinded by negative feelings. We come to love what loves as well, thus we love based more on the use of attributes (nature) rather than the attributes themselves. The experience of loving is very much a direct response to the experience of being loved.

Knowing that God loves me, I should continue to love him supremely, even if He were divested of all his attributes of supremacy, ultimacy, and absoluteness. God loves us first and grants us the ability to love, so it is natural for us to love Him in return. Love is reciprocated. Finite love (creature perspective) can be seen as a reciprocation of infinite love (Creator perspective). All in all, loving God would certainly be a reciprocation if we love those who love us.

Love creates a connection between us and something or someone else. As God’s love is infinite, He can maintain infinite connections or bonds. In this sense, love’s usage has a quantitative aspect. And because God is the ultimate source of love, there is a qualitative essence to it – the fact that it is the most perfect example of love to be found. Thus we find that it is infinite in mass and absolute in meaning.

Love as an Experience:

Love is expressed primarily through three functions: action, thought and feeling.

Action – the expression of love through the developing of relationships, primarily through service.
Thought – thoughts of love usually come in the forms of forgiveness, appreciation, compassion, understanding or humility.
Feeling – the reaction of the heart in response to receiving and providing love or its various expressions.

Another way of looking at the experience of love is to divide it between three forms: physical, mental and spiritual.

Physical – the desire to be close to something or someone, or to engage in some form of bond. It is a thing of comfort and desire.
Mental – the approval or acceptance of ideas, things or beings. It is a thing of preference and belief.
Spiritual – the desire to devote oneself to another (or the self) in a fashion which reaps a positive result (likely following the Father's will). It is a thing of offering and respect, and includes selfless service and worship.

Love as a Thing:

It is clear that human language cannot perfectly describe what love is, but we can at least try to ask the right questions. These are some of mine:

Where does love come from?
Does love exist as energy?
Does it exist as a field?
Does it create energy?
Is it a value hidden within an interaction?
Is it in you waiting for release?
Is it received in a way so that you can store it for the day when you want to use it?

Recent Ideas: The Effects of Time

Many of the reasons for human experience are known to us, as we must be capable of experiencing or witnessing the lack of perfection in order to understand the greatness of perfection. But there is something else. Why are our bodies so weak? Why don't people stay on a planet until fusion or until they advance in spiritual standing? Why does there need to be death when there are others who begin their existence in morontia form? One of the great reasons for this body of flesh is that it makes us overly conscious of time. This is one of the few experiences in the ascension career where time is truly of the essence. The human body is an expression of time itself!

Even if the progression and regression of the soul is not witnessed, the course of time is still evident not just by our action, but by our existence. With a body that does not age or die, progression is more like an eventual activity, not something that always needs to be accomplished today or tomorrow. However, in the human form, there may not even be a tomorrow. Time is bearing down on you 24/7. Whether it is through action or inaction, the consequences will teach us to take time seriously, and that will certainly help us reach Paradise at a faster pace. There are other reasons for valuing this time experience, but I believe acknowledging the possible consequences of slothful behavior and valuing the succession of events within time-space are two of the biggest things to gain through the experience of temporal life.

Recent Ideas: Unknown Angels

I am not sure how many have reached this conclusion, but it is an interesting one worth mentioning. The Urantia Book only names one class of angel for us, the seraphim, while there are seven types in total. The other six of these are not mentioned as they do not regularly become involved in the human ascension career. Some may have picked up on this right away, but I did not. I included cherubim, sanobim, supernaphim, seconaphim, tertiaphim and omniaphim to that list, mainly due to the similarity in names. These other spirit types (including the seraphim and midwayers) are classified Ministering Spirits, and thus grouped together.

(420.1) 38:3.1 Numerous orders of spirit beings function throughout the domains of the local universe that are unrevealed to mortals because they are in no manner connected with the evolutionary plan of Paradise ascension. In this paper the word “angel” is purposely limited to the designation of those seraphic and associated offspring of the Universe Mother Spirit who are so largely concerned with the operation of the plans of mortal survival. There serve in the local universe six other orders of related beings, the unrevealed angels, who are not in any specific manner connected with those universe activities pertaining to the Paradise ascent of evolutionary mortals. These six groups of angelic associates are never called seraphim, neither are they referred to as ministering spirits. These personalities are wholly occupied with the administrative and other affairs of Nebadon, engagements which are in no way related to man’s progressive career of spiritual ascent and perfection attainment.

I should also mention that there are seven groups of seraphim:

1. Supreme Seraphim.
2. Superior Seraphim.
3. Supervisor Seraphim.
4. Administrator Seraphim.
5. Planetary Helpers.
6. Transition Ministers.
7. Seraphim of the Future.

However, these seraphim are not fundamentally different beings. They differ in their function and competencies. I should also mention that the archangels are not real angels, nor are they Ministering Spirits, as strange as that may sound. We traditionally think of Archangels as a type of angel since "angel" is in the name, but these are actually dual-origin beings coming from both the Creator Son and Mother Spirit, and beings are only known as angels (as far as I can tell) when they are from the Infinite Spirit (or local Mother Spirit) only. Archangels are listed as Descending Sons.

In contrast, the following is a list of those mentioned in the Urantia Book which only come from the Infinit Spirit:

1. Solitary Messengers.
2. Universe Circuit Supervisors.
3. Census Directors.
4. Personal Aids of the Infinite Spirit.
5. Associate Inspectors.
6. Assigned Sentinels.
7. Graduate Guides.
8. Havona Servitals.
9. Universal Conciliators.
10. Morontia Companions.
11. Supernaphim.
12. Seconaphim.
13. Tertiaphim.
14. Omniaphim.
15. Seraphim.
16. Cherubim and Sanobim.
17. Unrevealed Spirit-origin Beings.
18. The Seven Supreme Power Directors.
19. The Supreme Power Centers.
20. The Master Physical Controllers.
21. The Morontia Power Supervisors.

Semantic Misunderstandings: Frequency and Vibration

I often have trouble understanding someone when they mention frequencies or vibrations in a spiritual sense, as these concepts lack true explanations. The idea of personal frequency or vibration is used so numerously that it seems almost a thing of common knowledge, at least among certain groups. However, there has been little to no scientific explanation. I can understand why if this is a spiritual phenomenon, but if this is the case, then it is not a thing of physical vibration. So what is vibrating? What holds the frequency? The soul? The energy body? The mind? I have my own personal answer, but I do not know how correct it is.

A frequency can be like a radio signal. It is used to communicate meanings which hold certain values. Higher frequencies relate to higher values being communicated. In this case, raising your frequency equates to the ability to communicate with higher teachers or those of greater authority. What this means is that a personal frequency is an attunement to certain communication circuits used for transmitting/receiving and even reflectivity. Thus, having a greater frequency can literally get you closer to God, but it does not necessarily mean you are more like God unless accessing such forms of contact is a direct result of personal growth. Only then could frequency be used to measure spiritual growth, but this still does not explain vibration.

Perhaps I will eventually find the answer, and I certainly welcome any new ideas from those who come across this post.

New Ideas: Thoughts on a Vow

I have respect for many in the military, and both of my grandfathers helped in the war effort, one in WWII, the other Korea, but the pledge of allegiance never helped me respect or love the United States. All it did was annoy me. If the patriotism of growing students in this era appears so abysmal that it warrants the continuance of a 100+ year tradition, then I can tell you that such students will not become patriotic through such a shallow means. Nationalism is altogether a negative trait in the realm of global affairs, and true patriotism is not a trait that can be forced through fear, indoctrination or appeal to authority. Kids and teens learn to form an opinion about their country as they begin to understand its history, environment and present politics. A vow to a flag cannot act as a substitute for education.

One of the main reasons fewer and fewer identify themselves as patriotic is because the original values this country was founded on are being eroded away by the government itself. Maybe if we didn't live in a police state, the constitution would still hold some merit and more would choose to fight for this country, but for many in the new generation, the pledge of allegiance is just a joke. It was used as a way to boost patriotism in the late 19th century, so it really should not be surprising that it has lost its value as the world has become more integrated through technology.

Patriotism is ultimately a commonality of values and their joint defense. When the original values of a country are discarded by said country, the nation which once supported such freedoms no longer exists as a reality, and the new country under the same name does not deserve the respect of the populace. I can devote myself to the country the Founding Fathers wished to construct, but that is not the same as devoting myself to the current United States. My allegiance is to my values and what happens to uphold them, and the only example I know of is the government on High, which does have my respect.

As I am sure I have mentioned before, I dislike traditions quite a bit. I was never a fan of the "Lord's Prayer", or pretty much anything I found repetitive. Allegiance to something is expressed through action, not words. Worship is similar, and my soul was never moved by reading someone else's prayer out loud. I require something genuine and personal to be spiritually stimulated, and I feel like this is true for more and more individuals in this day and age.

Analysis of the Self: Love to be Given

(1763.1) 159:1.4 Simon Peter was the apostle in charge of the workers at Hippos, and when he heard Jesus thus speak, he asked: “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?” And Jesus answered Peter: “Not only seven times but even to seventy times and seven. Therefore may the kingdom of heaven be likened to a certain king who ordered a financial reckoning with his stewards. And when they had begun to conduct this examination of accounts, one of his chief retainers was brought before him confessing that he owed his king ten thousand talents. Now this officer of the king’s court pleaded that hard times had come upon him, and that he did not have wherewith to pay this obligation. And so the king commanded that his property be confiscated, and that his children be sold to pay his debt. When this chief steward heard this stern decree, he fell down on his face before the king and implored him to have mercy and grant him more time, saying, ‘Lord, have a little more patience with me, and I will pay you all.’ And when the king looked upon this negligent servant and his family, he was moved with compassion. He ordered that he should be released, and that the loan should be wholly forgiven.

(1763.2) 159:1.5 “And this chief steward, having thus received mercy and forgiveness at the hands of the king, went about his business, and finding one of his subordinate stewards who owed him a mere hundred denarii, he laid hold upon him and, taking him by the throat, said, ‘Pay me all you owe.’ And then did this fellow steward fall down before the chief steward and, beseeching him, said: ‘Only have patience with me, and I will presently be able to pay you.’ But the chief steward would not show mercy to his fellow steward but rather had him cast in prison until he should pay his debt. When his fellow servants saw what had happened, they were so distressed that they went and told their lord and master, the king. When the king heard of the doings of his chief steward, he called this ungrateful and unforgiving man before him and said: ‘You are a wicked and unworthy steward. When you sought for compassion, I freely forgave you your entire debt. Why did you not also show mercy to your fellow steward, even as I showed mercy to you?’ And the king was so very angry that he delivered his ungrateful chief steward to the jailers that they might hold him until he had paid all that was due. And even so shall my heavenly Father show the more abundant mercy to those who freely show mercy to their fellows. How can you come to God asking consideration for your shortcomings when you are wont to chastise your brethren for being guilty of these same human frailties? I say to all of you: Freely you have received the good things of the kingdom; therefore freely give to your fellows on earth.”

(1764.1) 159:1.6 Thus did Jesus teach the dangers and illustrate the unfairness of sitting in personal judgment upon one’s fellows. Discipline must be maintained, justice must be administered, but in all these matters the wisdom of the brotherhood should prevail. Jesus invested legislative and judicial authority in the group, not in the individual. Even this investment of authority in the group must not be exercised as personal authority. There is always danger that the verdict of an individual may be warped by prejudice or distorted by passion. Group judgment is more likely to remove the dangers and eliminate the unfairness of personal bias. Jesus sought always to minimize the elements of unfairness, retaliation, and vengeance.

What is to be gained from this? Mercy is not unlimited, or else there could be no justice in the world. Although mercy is born from love, the amount of love and mercy given are not in equal measurements. God cannot grant mercy forever, for evil could exist forever, but God does love others forever. God loves all equally, and this love has no end. So a part of our struggle to become perfect like God is to learn to love all equally. Love should not cease because of the mistakes of our human family. That is conditional love! God provides love unconditionally! Even if you come to love another person's God fragment, it is all for naught if you cannot love the person as well! Loving a person's Thought Adjuster is the same as loving God, but not people, and many of these people can become one with these very Thought Adjusters you so cherish.

All have the potential to bring ever greater value to the universes of time. All were born innocent and grew up in an environment which helped taint their inner nature. You would love these humans as children and as ascending spirits, but not as humans suffering with malnourished souls? They require more love and nurturing than anyone, but receive greater negativity for their own poor decisions. You do not have to grant them mercy, but in order to grow you must learn to accept their imperfect selves and let God or society as a whole work out how they will be judged for their actions. If you are to blame anyone, blame Caligastia for letting the infection of maleficence enter this sphere. How can you love a person in one instance and not another? To truly love is to love the totality of that individual, not necessarily their actions, but certainly their entire being no matter what day it may be. No person is without value. That value either did exist at one point or will eventually grow in the eons beyond. You must look into the actuals of the past and the potentials of the future. Love is not a thing of present feelings. It is an evolving sense which slowly incorporates the realm of eternity.

Love does not absolutely require certain physical actions in response. You can still love another without knowing the best way to manifest said love. Love does not always require action, but it does require one to look for God's will in said action. If you see that such will is present, that is the action which likely expresses both your love and the Father's love as well, especially if you wish to love as the Father does. Can you see that the ultimate Source of love is to be emulated if we are to love as well?

New Ideas: From the Holy to the Infinite

For those who study more recent revelation, it may be difficult to discuss various topics with those still enamored by traditional beliefs. In this example, I look at the traditional idea of the Holy Spirit of the Trinity. The relation between God the Son and Joshua ben Joseph/Christ Michael is something I look at or mention frequently, but there is nothing yet in this blog about the Infinite Spirit.

It goes almost without saying that the Holy Spirit of the Christian Trinity is given credit for the work of both the local universe Mother Spirit (Nebadonia) and Michael of Nebadon's Spirit of Truth. The Holy Spirit is even given credit for the work of the Thought Adjuster, though this work is not understood by many.

The concept of fragmentized entities constituting the factual presence of the infinite God entering time-space and inhabiting the minds of evolutionary willed beings (mortals, humans, etc.) is entirely separate from the reality or purpose of trinitization the escape of personality absolutism for example. The Trinity itself is absolute and infinite, and cannot directly enter time-space (though it certainly influences it). The Trinity is usually represented by others, such as the seven Master Spirits or the Paradise Sons.

I do not know why Christians use God the Spirit for this role, but I suppose it involves the fact that most do not know how each personalization of Deity contributes to the universe and just assign the Spirit whatever role they don’t see the Father or Son fulfilling. Or perhaps it started as an issue of language, where God the Spirit was the only one to receive spirit qualities. Yet a stable Trinity cannot be unbalanced. It most constitute the ultimate forms of will, personality, mind, power, knowledge, etc. Finiteness cannot exist. Even as the Father divests Himself of absolute qualities, they are then picked up by the Son and Spirit. In fact, if the Holy Spirit is seen as the spirit of the Father, and not its own personalization of Deity, then can it even be considered a separate aspect of God? It is as if through the lens of Christianity, the Spirit barely remains distinct and the Son barely remains united.

The bigger issue though, an issue which confounds celestials as much as it can humans, is how any infinite or absolute presence can be broken down into something which does not threaten the potentials of time and space. That is a true cosmic mystery. And there are indeed more, such as the unwritten history of when the Infinite Spirit came into being and Havona was realized.

Alas, if one realizes they are home to a fragment of God (one of the ultimate gifts from the Father) or if they notice the spirit-mind circuits they are attached to, the Infinite Spirit receives the attention. Though I certainly don't blame Christians, either now or in the past, as they simply work with what information they have (though it can be said they fear new information). They do not quite know of the divine gifts they receive, nor how the Creator Son and Mother Spirit grant them the ability to live. At least many are still thankful, even when they know not who to thank.

Project: Building a System of Truth

I am good at analyzing, judging and building systems, and these systems include groups of truths that work together in harmony. A system of truth is basically a set of truths which get grouped up in a certain way as to facilitate the finding and evaluating of additional truth (or revelation). Truth in itself acts as a mental stimuli and adjusts how we think.

I thought I would share some of the "coding" that naturally appears in my mind when I analyze information, and this can be used to create your own system for truth. This tiny project (or post) may get updated as time goes on. Note that this method of looking at things could become very complex when information mounts, but I think it is at least a good way of describing how it can be categorized.

  • Truths and beliefs must be specifically defined.
  • Beliefs can be created from truths, but it is essential that one is not confused for the other.
  • Beliefs can exist as relative truth in the system if the system logically verifies the belief and these relative truths are stated as such.
  • Truths should either be flexible (vague) enough to stay correct as more revelation appears, or they should be focused (detailed) enough that no revelation could contradict it. One should state which method is being used.
  • Contradiction must be kept to a minimum, but can exist if truths depend on certain (time-dependent) variables.
  • New events should not contradict established fact. If it occurs, it must be within a tolerable ratio. This percentage of contradiction should decrease through time.
  • Truths which seem to contradict reality should make sense within the system.
  • A smaller system can exist within the larger system as long as nothing in the smaller system confirms or denies something outside of it.
  • In order to remain relevant, the smaller system must rely on the larger system to exist.
  • Even if the smaller system is contradicted, the larger system should remain stable.
  • There can be more than one small system (microcosm) within the larger system (macrocosm).
  • Smaller systems can relate to one another in a way that if one is true, then it is likely so with the other.
  • Smaller systems cannot contradict each other within the same larger system unless they involve relative truths which depend on variables (likely involving time).

This isn't really about certain truths, I am just attempting to describe how people should really organize information if they desire to be logical about it or make that claim. If someone wants to go with their gut, feelings or desires, then they should be clear about that and not pretend that pure reason is guiding their choices or understanding.

A Friendly Face: Community Education

This is the start of a new series where I post things from others I know. Content that is certainly worthy for adding to this little place. This first post is from Welles. You can read more of such essays at http://www.theoreticsinstitute.org/forum/forum.php.

"Last fall a good friend of mine died. He had been a practical engineer. That means he had contracted projects in a number of industries to build the physical systems that created products. He rather facetiously called himself a plumber because pipefitting was a part of many of his projects. In his personal life he was a meticulous craftsman who spent years crafting his home and much of the furniture in it.

When he died he left behind a marvelous shop. The possibilities present there were endless — woodworking, metalworking (including plumbing/pipefitting, welding, mill and lathe work), common electrical work and an auto bay. I loved visiting and occasionally working there and started to imagine how a resource like that might be used as a community educational center for industrial arts.

Six months later I was chatting with a new neighbor. He was in the conceptual stage of planning some sort of agricultural education program, perhaps a school. I listened to his thoughts carefully. We agreed during that conversation that there were many highly skilled people living in our rural community who might be wonderful teachers given the opportunity. With that thought we parted company. I kept thinking.

To me education is a lifelong endeavor and has one primary goal. That is to allow individuals (ideally everyone) to discover and develop their potentials so they become capable of initiating the actions that support their lives. Creativity strengthens the community. True education requires that physical skills, intellectual goals and spiritual growth all be addressed. Each is an important component of human development. Physical skills yield beauty and material support for our lives. They provide the freedom from want that allows us the time for of the intelligent pursuit of truth, which, in its turn reveals the spiritual values discovered in the pursuit of goodness.

In more down to earth terms a personal desire to achieve a specific goal is the most fertile ground for the process of education to flourish. Active pursuit of an objective instantly creates the context in which the necessity for various studies becomes obvious. Information is easily comprehended when we can see the relevance to our projects. Development of skills becomes more play than work. Each bit of learning incorporated into the realization of our goal yields an enthusiasm that builds inertia to keep the undertaking exciting and moving toward the satisfaction of completion.

How might a community educational system work? It would simply be a function of putting together people needing help with creative goals and those of greater experience and resources willing to help foster their projects. It would be decentralized and individual in scope rather than institutional. Physical things could be created in shops. Suggesting approaches and resources would be an avenue in the development of intellectual aspirations. Teachers would be students and students would be teachers.

Generosity is the spiritual foundation of this plan. The result would be growing a more vital community, which is simply the network of our individual connections. We would be building strength and trust into those links. That is goodness in action."

The Burden Series: Honesty

The topic may not seem clear as I start, but it will make sense as I go on. Here is a quote from another one of those Facebook memes/pictures I have learned to hate recently.

"People who use a lot swear words tend to be more honest and trustworthy, human behavioral studies suggest."

Let's temporarily forget that the behavioral studies are not linked and that this sentence appears to suggest that swearing makes you more honest. Let's explore the topic of swearing for a second. There are usually three forms of swearing:

1. In response to a result, usually existing as an expression of frustration thanks to a setback. Seen as a lack of self-consciousness.
2. Swearing at someone, also existing primarily through the expression of frustration, but can also be used for the sake of being rude. Seen as a lack of respect.
3. Swearing for the sake of swearing, primarily harsh words used unnecessarily. Seen as a lack of dignity.

Number two is usually perceived as mean, and number three is seen as distasteful. I swear frequently in response to setbacks, but usually when I am alone. It allows me to vent anger through language instead of people physically destructive. But I do not act this way in front of others, or at least not initially. I study my interactions with everyone and determine how to respond. Yes, I can manipulate my social interactions so that people see me in a certain light, but it is up to them to make certain assumptions. I am not less honest or trustworthy for be conscious of my behavior and choosing how to act, but it is likely that those who wish to be devious will hide their true intentions by monitoring their behavior around others.

I do not think swearing makes you more honest, I just think dishonest people are especially good at creating facades. But the creation of social illusions is not always bad, especially if coupled with good intentions which lead to positive results. This approaches the actual topic at hand: the burden of honesty.

Honesty is certainly a virtue many at least pretend to strive for, but small lies occur quite frequently. It does not even need to be something like a compliment you do not mean or an incomplete response regarding how you are feeling. The world is filled with half-truths, and we create these frequently through communication, as almost no one can tell another person absolutely everything going on in their mind or the environment. Even if you are happily married, there is bound to be information you forget to share or simply gets omitted due to a lack of importance or the time needed to communicate. It is physically impossible for us to share everything about ourselves to another human being, and we cannot always control how this limited information is understood by others.

Both honesty and dishonesty are measured in value by the intentions behind them and the results they create. Honesty in itself is not a virtue. Some form of information will always be withheld, so what we are speaking about is really relative honesty. It may be good to avoid lies and deceit, but it is also not necessarily good to speak the full truth in all situations. And when we pursue honesty as a virtue, we stop analyzing our interactions on a case by case basis.

You do not need to tell lies (normally), but always speaking truth or always striving to (which can have adverse effects) creates an unnecessary burden on the individual. This is especially true if one feels guilty when a full truth cannot be explained, whether the person is at fault or not. Similar burdens are created whenever someone strives for an unreasonable goal, especially one that is unnecessary or extreme.

Virtues can all be taken to extremes. Patience is a necessary trait, but too much and you may never reach a goal or see a result. It is often said that cleanliness is next to godliness, but with too much of a focus on cleanliness you can create an obsessive compulsive disorder (or even develop a fear of germs). It is better to possess virtues than not, but only to a healthy level. Just make sure that level is such that the most good is created. Do not burden yourself with things that appear good but hold little meaning or benefit.

Logic Puzzles: Duality

There seems to be frequent preaching about duality lately. Well, there has been for at least five years as the new age culture grew. People feel super wise for taking in this concept and spewing it back out without much add value or weight. While not entirely bad, it is not necessarily good either.

Ironically, this avoidance of "dualistic thinking" seems to place people in two opposing categories: those who focus on duality and those who do not. And funnily enough, those who preach either the importance of duality or unity end up in the former category. The people who belong to the latter do not but individuals in groups, as they know assumptions can be misleading. These people look at the individual as a person and not a category or label. Of course, when dealing with anonymous individuals, these categories may be all we have.

I find that mentioning duality is usually just a way to get people to temporarily ignore differences, but does not quite do enough to foster love between all people. Unconditional love involves accepting these differences for what they are and loving people anyway. You can't fool people into believing such differences are imaginary, but you can downplay their importance.

I don't think noticing how we are different from one another is always a bad thing. If anything, a person who notices these differences to such a high degree would be able to see how each individual is unique. In fact, polarization can also be healthy as it can create discussion or debate which helps foster brand new ideas, or even new ways to come together. Problems do frequently appear with polarization as well, especially when fear gets involved (I only mention fear as hatred seems to be a result of it).

There are also issues within this idea of the total acceptance of differences, and that is when one group is objectively evil or sinful. Such behavior is truly not acceptable when it differs so greatly from divine will. These are actions which should not be ignored, accepted or downplayed, and the message on duality erodes individual ethics. It discards moral ideals as subjective constructs and states that people should be accepting of others no matter what, because these individuals are a part of the whole and a part of you. But this does not excuse violence. It does not excuse cruelty or selfishness. Escaping the world of rights and wrongs may make things easier for you, but it is still possible for these actions to conflict with the higher values of Paradise or the Micheal government on High. Know that the existence of mercy does not create a total lack of justice. Bad behavior cannot continue forever, no matter how much you think I am ostracizing these poor souls who wrong the world.

It is likely that a reader does not think this post is a good response to what they themselves have read, but there are different versions of the idea. I do not generally advocate black and white judgements, as things can be pretty gray at times, and that is another thing this concept of duality fails to account for. We are also not divided into two categories, but over seven billion of them.

Logic Puzzles: A Certain Philosophy

I feel that many come to the understanding that we serve as a part of God, or that God is made up of everything. I am not quite of the same mind. Unfortunately, the idea that we are a part of God does not really hold in the world of black and white logic.

If we were God now, doing our own will would be the same as doing God's will, which simply isn't true. However, you could reason that after fusion with the Thought Adjuster, when our will is always the same as God's will, we may be labeled as a part of God (or the Supreme at least). But I am not sure that is entirely true either. I have yet to decide how unified we really are with God because I know I would need the aid of mota to really understand the full details. Until then, I cannot hold any definite stance on the issue.

What I question is the differing classifications of the human. If I call myself God, I feel like I am disrespecting the Father, even when a small part of the Father will eventually become a part of myself. I know what such a statement is attempting to describe, but on its own I feel it is almost immoral to state. Others may not understand why I feel this way, but I will stick with what I think is right. I generally stay away philosophies that can be twisted into something problematic, and I seem to be pretty good at seeing the negative side of positive things as they can be misused.

There may be a truth out there that is technically right, but if it can easily be misused or misconstrued, it may be best to leave it as an unknown. I know from experience that if people get the idea that they are (in a sense) God, when they barely know anything about God, it can lead to problematic (and even selfish) behavior. There are people who say they accept Jesus and then condemn others to hellfire. There are people who believe themselves to be spirit, but then insult others who do not understand their point of view. There are people who claim to do the will of God when they ostracize people of different faiths or sexual orientations.

Before our experiential role is explained, the Trinity must first be understood in order to foster a value system for the individual which is based on truth. Then when origin or destiny is discussed, people can integrate those values into their understanding. In other words, people should first learn about what the Father's will is before they attempt to pursue it, or they should learn about the Supreme before they learn of their role in constructing it. If these steps are not followed, people will attempt to glorify their own will or doings which are not actually in line with what is best.

Recent Ideas: God and Gender

The forms of God are defined by their internal traits and their relationships to one another as well as creation. There are no real genders, but one can take the traits of an ideal father, mother, son or daughter, and use such distinctions to name the different forms of Deity. On High, the Second Source and Center is frequently referred to as the Mother Son, for instance. When giving names to the parts of God, these names should describe the parts and the value therein. All in all, God doesn't care what people call Him, as long as they call on Him. In reality, God is more of an "it", but "he/she" is used as a form of respect or a way to foster familiarity through language. "It" just seems a bit distant.

Recent Ideas: Morontia Mota

It has been a continuous thought exercise of mine to think about how I would best describe morontia if I were to experience it. The UB states that comparing this form of reality with ours is extremely difficult because of how limited this language is along with the human mind, but I think there may be some contributing factors. Mota is described as a philosophy far greater than what we have here (and more).

"Mota is more than a superior philosophy; it is to philosophy as two eyes are to one; it has a stereoscopic effect on meanings and values. Material man sees the universe, as it were, with but one eye — flat. Mansion world students achieve cosmic perspective — depth — by superimposing the perceptions of the morontia life upon the perceptions of the physical life. And they are enabled to bring these material and morontial viewpoints into true focus largely through the untiring ministry of their seraphic counselors, who so patiently teach the mansion world students and the morontia progressors. Many of the teaching counselors of the supreme order of seraphim began their careers as advisers of the newly liberated souls of the mortals of time."

"The lower planes of morontia mota join directly with the higher levels of human philosophy. On the first mansion world it is the practice to teach the less advanced students by the parallel technique; that is, in one column are presented the more simple concepts of mota meanings, and in the opposite column citation is made of analogous statements of mortal philosophy."

"Not long since, while executing an assignment on the first mansion world of Satania, I had occasion to observe this method of teaching; and though I may not undertake to present the mota content of the lesson, I am permitted to record the twenty-eight statements of human philosophy which this morontia instructor was utilizing as illustrative material designed to assist these new mansion world sojourners in their early efforts to grasp the significance and meaning of mota..."

"Evolutionary religion provides only the assurance of faith and the confirmation of conscience; revelatory religion provides the assurance of faith plus the truth of a living experience in the realities of revelation. The third step in religion, or the third phase of the experience of religion, has to do with the morontia state, the firmer grasp of mota. Increasingly in the morontia progression the truths of revealed religion are expanded; more and more you will know the truth of supreme values, divine goodnesses, universal relationships, eternal realities, and ultimate destinies."

Mota is a form of higher insight which we will learn on the mansion worlds. It is the "superphilosophic sensitivity for truth discernment and unity perception". Mota is impossible to deeply understand without the morontia experience, for "mota is the technique of the morontia level". The morontia experience may also be hard to fully comprehend without the understanding which mota provides. "Mota is a supermaterial reality sensitivity which is beginning to compensate incomplete growth, having for its substance knowledge-reason and for its essence faith-insight. Mota is a superphilosophical reconciliation of divergent reality perception which is nonattainable by material personalities; it is predicated, in part, on the experience of having survived the material life of the flesh."

Plato believed that objects had some form of objective value. The objects did not wholly represent this value as they were imperfect, but the ultimate form of such objects did exist elsewhere (if memory serves correctly). I am thinking that things in the morontia plane reflect mota values, and without understanding these values, it is hard to better intellectually understand or imagine what these worlds are like. Mota even has the capability of making purely material things reflect higher values. "Without the insight of mota, mortal man cannot discern goodness, love, and truth in the phenomena of the material world." When dealing with the physical, mota seems to act as a pair of 3D glasses during a movie. As meanings are better understood in the physical reality, depth is created. This is supported in the following passage:

"On the morontia level all of these finite dimensions of the material level are greatly enhanced, and certain new dimensional values are realizable. All these enlarged dimensional experiences of the morontia level are marvelously articulated with the supreme or personality dimension through the influence of mota and also because of the contribution of morontia mathematics."

I do not think the morontia reality can only be experienced with mota, an improved body with greater sensing capabilities is needed. However, descriptions of these worlds make it seem as if the environment holds its own values or truth, or is a reflection of such higher truths. Perfection itself is a level of value, at least when dealing with physical things, so a perfect form of a kind of plant would hold the values of other more general truths (such as sacred geometry, perfected mathematics or an ultimate form of genetics). Obviously, comparing the value between inanimate objects and living things is difficult, but the whole environment is designed for learning, enjoyment and efficiency. A philosophy or set of values may have gone into making a simple pathway so that certain materials were used and molded into a specific shape.

Anyway, the point of the post was to look at the possibility that it is hard to translate morontia vision into human language because that vision partly depends on values and insight we do not possess, as they require mota. It is similar to how we need experience or self-reflection to gain wisdom, which is a kind of sight in itself.
